The High Performance program develops tournament players — juniors competing on the OTA circuit and building toward greater results. Players train on court under Tyler Panhuyzen and the Toronto Racquets coaching staff, with ten off-court sessions run in partnership with Advantage 4 Athletes over the course of the program. Groups are capped at four players per court, with a coach on every court. Larger programs often spread a group across six or more courts, which means most of a player’s time is spent with assistant coaches. Ours never runs on more than three courts, so Tyler works directly with every player in each session.
Training is periodized against the competitive calendar, so the work in any given block matches what the player is preparing for.
Technique, movement, and match play are trained together. Players build the shot patterns their game depends on, the physical base to execute them under fatigue, and the tactical habits to apply them against live opposition.
Alongside that, players develop the competitive side of their game: how they manage themselves between points, how they respond to a set going badly, and how they review a match once it’s over. Every player learns to evaluate their own performance honestly and to hold a standard without a coach enforcing it. This is coached directly and assessed like any other part of the game.

Fitness is built into the program in partnership with Advantage 4 Athletes. Every group carries 30 minutes of fitness inside each session on court, and across the season players train in ten one-hour sessions at Advantage 4 Athletes, led by Lorne King, B.P.H.E.

Entry is by tryout, with ranking, UTR, and recent tournament results taken into account. Players are accepted on the basis of where they are and what they’re willing to put in. The program runs to a clear standard of effort and preparation, and players are expected to meet it.
